November 7, 2011...HOT!

Hello Family!
It sounds like the new ward is wonderful! I am so glad that everyone is enjoying it! Sounds like there are plenty activities for everyone! That’s one thing we are working on over here, getting all the activities going. Hopefully soon we will be having mutual and through the Christmas season there will be more to do. So far however there are a lot of really important meetings... and nothing has happened lol

So the last few days here have been HOT! Easily above 100 degrees every day. I think someone told us that it was around 104 F at like ten in the morning one day. You can imagine at three or four! Scorching. My guess is 110 or 115 at the hottest of these last few days. It’s also super super dry! We have been told that we can wear hats in this area! I am sending a picture. Everyone keeps warning us about the heat... And all the people who live here really do sleep from three to six thirty every single day! What a nap. The siesta is always hard hours.

Oh my hair, all nice and short like in these last pictures, is because I cut it myself with a razor! lol

I am still working a lot with Ramón... I feel like a surgeon with my fingers in someone’s heart. There are not any big problems, he is still super excited. We worry about him a bit though. Working and studying harder than he should and all. The other day he wanted us to explain about gentiles some ancient lineages. He also found that Genesis 50 verse thirty does not exist but it’s in his footnote lol Its JST, that was an interesting discussion. We are trying to get him to slow down and focus more on helping his family to understand. He just changed every part of his life extremely fast all at once! He is going to go to the stake priesthood meeting this weekend and they told the men in priesthood to invite other brothers to attend. Ramón is doing the same and he has a friend who he knows is inactive who he wants to bring! lol This week he brought his nephew to church with him too. He tells everyone that if they really want happiness it’s here in this church. He’s really REALLY forward about everything lol I hope his wife is not too freaked out. She likes it all too but not to the same extent. I hope no arteries burst anytime soon...

This week we ran in to two different people who said that we arrived just in time! One inactive sister who wants to be happy like she used to be in the church and said a prayer to help her find this happiness. We had been looking for this family for a while and never found their house. Well this one day we contacted it and were surprised to hear “Hello, Elders!” lol She said when she saw us she knew it was an answer to her prayer. She is working with us to help the rest of her family get back into things. We will see what happens with her...

Also, we found a 15 year old boy in his house. Well first we found his mom and she said she was busy and we could talk to her boy about what we needed lol turns out he was the one who needed. He said he is hardly ever happy. He said that he had tried praying to saints and virgins but it didn’t work so now he does not believe it. He has a really bad relationship with his family and said he would do anything to be happy! As we were leaving he said that we arrived just in time! We are going to pass by with one on the young men this week.

Man out here in the world as a missionary its crazy! There is so much confusion and unrest in the people! Most of them refuse help or convince themselves that everything is fine... I can’t wait for the millennium. Right now however I am very concerned with the happiness of others... It hurts me to see their pain and it hurts even more when they refuse help.

Shannon! How is School going?! Having any sweet parties with awesome people? Does anyone dance anymore? I miss just goofing around and being a dork lol and driving all crazy in the car... Oh haha everyone here is obsessed with Justin Beber! No one can even understand him... they all ask me to translate.

Xavier! You’re a hooligan. Y un freaking Chango pero uno que es de diez! Running now? A lot? I miss running. Tell me more about the new people you have met!

Gabby! How are you! I miss having a little buddy with me! But I always show your baptism picture to people! It’s my favorite that I have! What are you up to?

Love you all so very much! Remember that this church is true! There are so many amazing things if you just search for them!
