November 28, 2011......La Mona Jimenez

Dear Family!

I love you all so very much! Things over here are... hot. I got pretty sick this last week with diarrhea and a killer headache. My companion and I both got it. We think that it must have been some bad water that we drank talking to people in the street or something like that. It was the worst I have ever had in my entire life! lol But no worries! It is passing and I am fine! The heat probably had something to do with the headache as well. Apparently people get sick here all the time from the sun.

Me and my companion have been applying different ways to not be contacting during the siesta. Everyone wants to sleep between 3 and 7 lol But we have done pretty well about staying out of the blistering sun during this time.

I figured out that the people here, and apparently especially in Cordoba like to listen to someone called "La Mona Jimenez". I heard a little bit and it sounded pretty good. My branch president over here said that I needed to tell you all about him, he is a goof. Maybe you can find him on itunes or something. Apparently he built a whole bunch of houses in Cordoba and the people love him. My pres said it’s the best that Argentina has to offer. Let me know if you like it!

The work has been rough this week. Partially due to being sick these last few days, but still it’s just crazy. Every week I get hit in the stomach by all the people who don’t come to church... It’s hard to keep up the faith and excitement and joy at times. BUT we are once again going to refocus this week and really do some work. I keep thinking about the members more and more. It’s so hard to work with them but I know that the more we can focus on them the more we will be blessed!

Remember Ramone? Well... He is getting married! We figured out a sneaky way that we can do it in about 10 days! Usually its several months but the missionaries have connections. That will be exciting! We need to call and talk to him today about getting all the paperwork together. He for sure is going to get baptized. We found out that his wife has a little bit of resentment between her and God from when her mother died.... We are working at it. BUT this could help a lot to create our white Christmas.

The other day we went out with our branch president to visit a whole bunch of people, mostly less active members but it was really good! The best part is that he is excited to go visit people with his councilors and stuff.

Also this last week there was a "splash" in our area. This is where the whole district goes to work in one area. we had three companionships going and got a lot done! Hopefully in the weeks following we can really capitalize on the work that they all did and the people they taught.

Miss you all so very much! I miss talking with you all the time mom! Sorry for being such a lazy kid before my mission... looking forward to seeing you all and talking with you all for Christmas! For me time is going so so fast! Life seems so short from this perspective.

Don´t forget that I love you all!

Elder Jacob Green.
