MY FAMILY!!!I love you all and I will call home for Christmas! In my time I will be calling at about six in the evening!! I think that means about two in the afternoon for you over there? I hope that all works out! Tell Alex that he should be there when I call! lol If at all possible! So excited to talk to you! I will be calling you so you won’t need to worry about that! Thanks for the numbers!
I have now hit my second translado! I have three months in Argentina and five in the mission! I got my first new companion this morning and he is named Elder Canales! From what I can tell he is a good and hard worker! I am excited to rock this area with him starting tonight! We have the baptismal interview of Ramon tonight. He gets married Wednesday and baptizes on Thursday! This week he is our main focus, making sure everything turns out good. Since my companion left I will be the one to baptize him if all goes well! The first time I get to perform the ordinance!
I have been learning a bunch about the work that needs to be done with members over here and in all the world really. Me and my companion started realizing a really interesting pattern with the people who were helping with the missionary work. All of the people who are sharing the gospel are the people who are progressing in the gospel themselves! Its interesting because they are the investigators who are preparing for baptism or the less active families who are reactivating. Many people would view them as weaker but that would be comparing one human with another, which we should not do. The trick is that they are PROGRESSING! That is what is really important. They are improving, receiving more blessings and as a natural result they share the gospel.
I am starting to realize how many members fall into the trap of "all is well in zion". They think that as long as you are a member of the church and you attend and read your scriptures and say your prayers you are fine. And yes... we need to do that. BUT! If we are not progressing? Why are we doing what we are doing? Instead of focusing myself in teaching the members about the missionary work and why it is important or something like that I will be focusing on getting them excited about the gospel and the Book of Mormon! When they are excited and learning more they will share the gospel without anyone even asking!
I am very excited about the work and to talk to all of you!! I have not called about my card yet. Still trying to get to talk to the secretary before! Next week I will know more. Thank you so very much for all that you are doing!! So far I am loving my twelve days of Christmas!
Talk to you soon!
LOVE
Elder Green
