Sept 22, 2011...Leaving on Monday for Argentina!

Family!

Wow. I am so incredibly happy! I do leave on Monday! I will leave Salt Lake at 12:50pm on Monday and arrive in Dallas Fort Worth at 4:30pm. I then have a three hour layover before my big flight to Argentina! That will be at 7:35pm and I will arrive in Buenos Aires at 8:15 the next morning! 16 hrs and 20 minutes of flight time! I will be able to call during my layover but I am still figuring out how all of that works. Since I land in Buenos Aires with no other flights it looks like I get a long drive in my near future as well. We will see if I am lucky enough to get my first autobus experience!

I cannot wait to not have to wait in line for food anymore! I am looking forward to meeting my mission pres. A lot of teachers here who went to South America say that he is the best!

Russell M Neilson came to the MTC this week! It was a great final Tuesday night devotional! Him and his wife are so amazing! During the talks I had a very interesting strong impression. It has helped me focus a little better and really be able to head out into the field with the right attitude. One thing that was said is "Obedience brings blessings, Exact obedience makes miracles!". My impression was that God has a work for me to do. I know I will learn a lot on this mission but I am here to accomplish specific things for other people. My mission is a mission of MIRACLES! Not one of mistakes and solemn personal learning. I am a representative of Jesus Christ himself.

I have to say that my MTC experience has been fantastic. I absolutely LOVE it here! I have learned so much and grown so much. I actually was talking with my favorite teacher the other day about how I feel like I didn't give up much to be here and it’s not ever really all that hard for me. BUT he helped me to realize that I do have struggles, they are just not the normal ones that Elders around me sometimes have. I can be obedient and do what I am supposed to. But on this mission that Lord wants me to really strive for the very best. He wants me to come up with my own solutions and not just do it but do it in the best way possible. This is how I will work miracles!

This favorite teacher, Hmo Russell, is a stud. We have the most spiritual discussions some times. He reminds me of Alex because he is a film student and he has a passion for the gospel. Talking with him has been the closest I have come to talking with all of you. But man I wish I would have understood a little bit better before so I could have really discussed some of these things with you all. The gospel is SO real to me. I want to help the people of Argentina see the story that that are a part of! I am not just going to Argentina to help normal people who are side characters. I am going to Argentina to awaken more heroes!

I never did get athletic socks but no worries! I don't need them anymore since I am leaving the MTC. Plus I figured out that dress socks are pretty much the best for everything. I am going to need to withdraw some more money before I leave on Monday. I might even do it today. I bought some more supplies and things I needed here and they want me to have a good amount of cash on me to travel. I will probably take out just about an even hundred... or many one fifty. The hope is that I don't have to spend it and there are no problems in the airport with bags or anything.

I have heard some interesting things about Argentina and am looking forward to seeing what it is really like! Stuff like breeds of dog that are actually illegal here in the US because they are so mean! Of areas that are so far out in the mountains and away from the mission home and so difficult that they don't send sisters out there ever. Vamos a ver!

I don't know how communication will work over there in Argentina... I am sure we will figure things out about mail and email shortly after we get there. Looking forward to talking to you in the airport!

Thanks you for the prayers, the letters and the love! Hopefully I will have time today to write more letters to you all back home!

Con Amor!

Elder Green
