From Bored to Excited
We have been watching a class entitled "Modern Economic Issues" by Robert Whaples of Wake Forest University. We picked this course purely because High School requires Economics for graduation and "it's a good thing to know about". After pushing through many boring lectures on GDP--the three letters that will put me to sleep anywhere anytime--we are actually starting to "get it"! Going from really not knowing much about economics to really diving in and sticking with it has made us go from bored students to entralled students. This course covers many topics and we have learned alot from the way the public school system works, how colleges work, how WalMart works, and all about "luxury fever" and how that effects our economy. We are excited for the lessons on overeating and baseball! Not knowing about a subject makes it boring but the more and more you learn the more and more it becomes interesting. It has made us more excited to pick more classes and to keep learning. A TV sit-com doesn't leave you with stuff to talk about afterwards like these classes do...

It turned out to be a good year to take this one.
