Today we learned about the Golden Rectangle in our Joy of Thinking class. We made this diagram by cutting out 2 squares that were 1 unit, and squares that were 2, 3, 5, 13, 18, 21, and 34 units. We've spent the rest of the day trying to eyeball golden rectangles in all the rectangles we see around us. We have already been learning about the Fibonacci numbers and that was so fun we had to buy our own pineapple to count it's spirals. It's been so fun to see all the "coincidences" in nature and realize it's not really coincidence but a very organized plan. It's fun to see a pattern where you never knew there was one.
I didn't know pineapple have spirals! The golden triangle is such an awe inspiring concept.
