We practiced building models from written instructions first. Then everyone built their own models and wrote down the instructions for everyone to follow. This one is J's. It turned out like a puzzle and was really fun to do! Try it! I'll post the solution later.
J's Solid
For this model use the same length of struts the entire time.
Step 1: Start with a simple cube made of blue struts.
Step 2: Connect three red struts to every vertex as far away as possible from the center cube.
Step 3: Cap every red strut with a ball.
Step 4: Using the original blue struts, expand the cube as if blowing up up a balloon-use the red struts as tracks and reconnect the blue struts to the ends of the red ones.
Step 5: Next, complete each grouping of red struts into tetrahedrons using more blue struts.
Step 6: Finish the structure by removing all of the red struts leaving only the blue exterior.
Congratulations!! You have created J's Solid! Kinda cool isn't it?! Try looking at it from various angles.
